Good cleaner for stainless steel bodies...

yes, I realize many of you have machine shops and bench grinders with jewler's polishing wheels in your garages, but for the rest of us...

"BarKeeper's Friend" works WONDERS on stainless steel bodies. I'd gotten a vert feed body a ways back that looked a little... grungy, as if it had been sitting in storage for months and years.

a scotch-brite pad got it looking better, but there was still some marks of rust here and there (yes, stainless can rust in certain conditions). a scotch-brite pad with a paste of BCF got it looking like it just came off the assembly line in about a minute flat.

I haven't tried it on the valve, because I fear it might remove the laser engraving.

It also smells vaguely of Lye, so be careful with it.

It's sold in supermarkets, generally next to the Comet. (same kind of package, a cardboard tube with a shaker top...)

I'll have to see what it says about use on Brass. I've got a KP body that brass polish hasn't quite gotten up to "blindingly shiny".

I use a cotton cloth and crome polish.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

I use Mother's mag and aluminum polish and a terry cloth towel. It works great and protects the surfaces as well.
you can find them in little red cans with spin-off lids in the automotive sections.
