    Need 12v Revvy help

Hey guys, I just gassed up and played for the first time all summer with my VERY kickass mag, and it worked perfect... but when doesnt it

    However, my Revvy did NOT.

The sensor would pick up when a ball was missing and the motor would run, but the paddles would NOT spin!

This only happened when the hopper was 1/2 - 3/4 full or so (It seemed, it wasnt ALWAYS that way)

It wasnt the batteries, I even replaced thoes, it wasnt that the hoper was overfilled. It always worked when there was no paint in the hopper.

Any sugestions? Could partially exposed wires be part of the problem even though none SHOULD be touching (I recently took out my intellifeed)

Thanks for the help, I dont want to lose my old shelled revvy

sounds like the paddles are slipping on the axel of the motor have you tried taking off one side of the loader pop out the motor and tightening the screw that mounts the paddles to the motor?

Will it spin if you put your finger against the paddles? It should have enough force to push your fingers away. If it doesn't, is the motor still turning? Or does it stop all together? With this info we can start to troubleshoot the problem.

This part confused me, as it kind of contradicts itself...

If it worked when there was NO PAINT in the hopper, but not when there was, one could come to the assumption that the paddle is slipping, or the hopper was overfilled. Though a working revvy should still turn when the hopper is over filled, atleast mine does.

That fact that it only happened when the hopper was half, or 3/4 of the way full, boggles me. Unless you just didn't notice when it was completely full.

I left out the 'completly full' part because I figured people would just assume it was overfilled.

I havent tried taking apart the revvy yet, as I would have NO CLUE what to look for.

Hopefuly it is that the paddles are slipping and I can just tighten them down, but it still did push my finger away when the paddles were spinning and I stuck my finger in there, however I never put enough force behind my finger to completly stop the paddles from spinning.

Sorry if it doesnt make sense, Im a math guy, not an english one

Thanks for the help, Im going to go check now to see if it is a loose paddle.

At the very worst, if you can't get it going, I would be happy to take a look at it. I am not certified to fix these but I have had numerous problems with my revvie. It works now.

It is pushing your fingers away. Hmm. This makes littl sense... If the motor is spinning (with paint in it) and the paddle is not, then it is most likely a slipping problem. However, if it is strong enough to push your fingers away (with a modest amount of force) then it should be strong enough to push paint. However if it isn't spinning at all then the sensors could be dirty. Then agian, if it works w/o paint, and pushes your fingers away fine, but not paint. Well I am totally confused at this point. Try throwing some more paint in there and doing a drop test. Fill it to the very top (even a little over filled). If it won't work, try removing some paint. Do this untill it does work. If it never does, untill emptied, then you have some other issues besides slippage. If it works at some point, then it isd a weak motor/paddle slipping (depending upon wether the motor is turning or not)

          make sense?>

          let me know the results

I took it apart and noticed that the paddles slid up and down on the axle that attaches it to the motor. I was able to get it to kind of slip... but it didnt seem too bad, which confuses me as to why it wasnt working in the first place. I couldnt figure out how to tighten down the paddle either, but I messed with it enough and it seems tight now.

I guess Ill just have to wait 3 months before I go paintballing again to see if it works :-/

you have to wait 3 months to play paintball???? that would drive me CRAZY! im pissed because band competitions have the next month and a half of my paintball time used up. i play every weekend.....

anyways, back to subject. your motor might be a little weak. on my old shelled revvy, i had the same problem as you, but my finger would stop the impeller from spinning a good bit. you could get new internal junk and keep your old shells, or get a new revvy. the newest revvys have different shells, much like the pre-be shells.

edit-i just looked at the pic of your mag.....its a shame you dont get to use it very often...that thing is NICE.

Moslty because all my friends quit PBallin on me, Ive only gone out to place twice all season. I do have an x-board in my revvy though.
I think it was just a loose paddle which has since been fixed, I can always use this as a reason to go paintballing next week... mmm good idea.
