    Electronics problem...

Charge my battery up to 18.9volts put it on my emag pull out the pin and its practically instantly lowered to about 15 volts and give me the low battery warning, I beleive there is a short circuit because at first it would not even come on and i had to tap the board back to make it work.

Anyone ever expierience something simular (BTW Im pretty sure its not my battery unless both of them have crapped out on me)

Doesn't sound like it's just shorting the battery, that would drain it completely. Is the battery getting hot? That's a big sign of a short. It could still be a short somewhere else though, like somewhere that doesn't pull a lot of current. Dunno where that would be though. It would have to be somewhere either touching the frame directly or a wire thats shorting to the board or frame. Check to see if anything like that is touching maybe just a little bit, that would cause some shorting.

I cannot see anywhere where it would be shorting but I just noticed soemthign with the battery... the read lead is or is not meant to go to the red lead in the frame?

The voltage that you are stating is exact or just a rough est? If you have a voltage meter you could be for sure. The best way to work on this is through using a buddys emag parts which you may not have to swap with. Check the panel for any odd positioned/cut wires... and inspect the battery.. good luck

                charge it

You have a chance that you could charge/discharge it several times and bring it back.

Did you store it charged or discharged. If discharged and stored for too long it will be boots up.

That is what cells do. A cell will charge, but will die qickly under load. I am not sure off the top of my head, but I think the emag uses 14-1.3vdc NimH batteries. If that is true you have a couple of options.
1- You can buy a new battery pack
2- you can isolate the bad cell and replace it (check digikey and allied electronics for replacement cells
3- try to "fix" the bad cell with a battery conditioner. This is used with NiCads alot, but I am sure NiMh batteries can use the same theory to "fix" them

                  Hope this helps
