    Field Rental Questions

    Howdy, all.

Just bought my first Mag. Haven't even shot the thing yet and I'm already in love.

It's an old field rental. It has the field rental valve. I have done a bit of reading, and as I understand it this valve can't accept level 10, and has a "restrictor plate" on velocity.

So, my general questions: Can I use an RT valve or X-Valve with this gun? Will it fit, or will I need a whole new valve housing and assembly or something?

Can I expect that the rest of the gun is "normal" - that the body/grip/w/e is interchangeable with regular Mag parts?

Any other pointers/hints with field rentals would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

The rest of the gun should be normal and should accept any other valve, X included.

You may be able to modify, or have modified, your existing rental valve so that it can accept the Lvl 10. There have been other threads on the subject, so you may try to search around a bit.

Thanks - I saw the threads on modifying the valve to accept lvl10, but I was really planning on going with the X-Valve (I think).

Your mag will accept any AGD valve on the market right now (minus the Classic RT valve, which you don't need to worry about).

            Cool - thanks.

Next question - until I get around to the X-Valve, is there a way to remove the velocity governor on the rental valve? It caps out at 275ish (depending on paint/barrel). It would be nice to use it in a game without too much of a handicap.

For all intensive purposes, no, there isn't a way to remove it. Yes, it is physically possible, but you would need a machinist to do it for you and it is more hassel than it is worth.

I bought a field rental also. This is the pic from ebay.

The valve has "field rental" engraved on it, and also says A.I.R. Valve.

It is my understanding that rental Mags have a smaller power tube or a restriction that is part of the machining process. In other words, the easiest way to fix the problem is to get a new valve.

i think that if you arn't playing in tournys, the velocity cap is good, its easy to tell when your shooting hot.

I also bout one of those field mags from that Ebay Auction. I will be attempting to install the Lvl 10 Tomorrow on my rental Valve...

I'm almost wondering if my valve has already been modified... I had to turn my Velocity down from 475 when I first tested the gun...

Has anyone else ever seen higher than 280 on there standard field valve???

Thunder Bunny, you should check your max Velocity as well to see what your cap really is...

Hey it's Rambino from the good 'ol tippy forum. Finally come over here man!
Glad to see you've succumbed to the dark side. X-valve is definately the way to go. With a ult the pull is so amazing you can't tell it's a damn mech.
