    adjusting trigger rod

    has anyone ever adj. the rod on the sear to give a shorter pull just wondering if anybody has messed with it before

    Adjusting your trigger rod won't give you a shorter pull. even if the rod is longer or shorter it will still require the same amount of travel to pivot the sear to fire, unless you adjust it so it doesn't catch the bolt with all of the sear then your catching a smaller portion of the bolt which can start to eat the bolt.

    The only way you can shorten the pull is by drilling a new hole in the sear higher up for shorter but this would make your pull heavier since you have less leaverage closer to the pivot point. There were some other threads talking about doing this mod buried here on AO somewhere.
