    How do automags work?

Alright, i ordered my ule automag and have yet to shoot it until i get hpa. I'm totally new to automags, since i have completely no experience with them. I looked around the site forever to see how they work, and found none. So tell me, how do they really work? Full info on them is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

they have an air chamber that fills up with regulated air. The bolt seals off the front of the air chamber. The sear holds the bolt back. When you pull the trigger, it shuts of the air going into the chamber and at the same time releases the bolt. The force of the air first pushes the bolt foreward, chamberin the paintball and then shoots the paintball out. So basically there is one major moving part, a lightweaight bolt.

Here's a gif of a classic mag. An RT is a little different, but you get the basic idea.
Mowing parts: Bolt, on/off-pin, sear, trigger. Not very many =)

Another question...I've heard that co2 doesn't really work well with mags. I know they definately dont work with guns such as the RT and X-mags, but what is it that makes co2 a bad mix with an automag. Is it that co2 freezes up the gun alot, or what?

the co2 freezes up and ruins the seals.and since theres alot of gas moving, in rapid fire the gun chills, and we all know cold co2= low pressure and changes in pressure = changes in velocity

The problem with RT (and X) valves is that they are "too good". They recharge too fast for CO2. Thus=, liquid ends up in the reg and ruins the seals.

Plus, mags run at high operating pressures, and Co2 does not feed them as well as it would a low pressure marker. You can run CO2 on a classic mag, just run an anti-siphon and preferably an expansion chamber.

remote line with expansion chamber at the tank AND on the marker is pretty much a must for a truly reliable CO2 classic mag. with a E,RT and X - just go HPA and life will be all gravy baby
