    Screw Jammed!

OK first off I just recently got a Automag R/T which worked very well until the screw behind the frame got jammed and will not come out. I dont know what I am doing wrong but I believe the O-rings are broken. Does anyone have a clue as to how to get the screw out?

no this could make things even harder since that screw gose through the grip frame. rail and screws into the valve. Do you have the proper size alen key that will fit in there? giving it a nice tug shoudl set it free and let you get it out.

I have the proper allen wrench but tugging doesnt do anything. I then tried with wrenching it out but to no avail.

Is the screw stripped? Twisting until the point of twisting the wrench or stripping the threads should get it out of there, if not you will probably have to cut the top off it. Whoever said this was a bad idea- if he took the body screw out as well then he would just have a long shaft of the screw that he could grab with a pair of vise-grips, but this method is kinda risky, and should only be done when all else fails. Come to think of it, just grab the outside of the threads with some Vise Grips, needlenose ones would probably be easier but the normal kind will work too.

this is why i said it was a bad idea to start of doing it that way he could have a much harder time getting it out with jsut the shaft there then witht he head still attached, in any case it would be best to try and get it off without cuting the head off, that shoudl be left a a last resort. Also with any type of grips theres a high probability of them sliping esepecialy if he was to atempt removing it with just the shaft in place.

try just pushing in the vlave into the body with ur hand, thrn try to unscrew.. maybe the spring is rly big so it is pushing out the reg. i allways find it easier to push the valve in when i screw it in/ take it out.

Yeah sometimes the pressure from the bolt spring will make it harder to unscrew the feild strip screw. Just press your valve into the body and try it from there. if that doesnt work, get needlenosers, and try unscrewing it with those. Go hard. My guess is that the previous owner didnt know what he was doing and bought the wrong theading sized bolt and just forced it in. This results in nastiness. I would strongly reccommend that you DO NOT cut off the bolt head. Just think, if its stuck in there that tight, how in the world are you going to unscrew it or back it out without any leverage from a head?
