Steel tanks need to be tested every five years, and carbon fiber needs to be tested every three. It says the date that it needs to get hydroed on the tank.
Hope this helps,

Some Hydro Facts
1. Not all steel tanks are 5 year bottles. In fact, the paintball bottles that are a 3HT bottle (most steel PB bottles are 3HT) are 3 year bottles.
2. Fiber wrapped bottles are both 3 and 5 year test cycles. Some are 3 year, then are switched to 5 year after they have been tested. The only way to tell is to check with the DOT exemption site or drop me a note at [email protected] (yes other people know the answere's too).
Hope this helps.
