    nitro tank question

ive got 2 steel nitro tanks and i didnt think they had to be tested for safety every so often, but when i was having my tank filled last, the guy filling it asked me when was the last time i had it tested, i was just wondering if i have to have my tanked check or not i thought it was only carbon wrapped tanks thanks

Steel tanks need to be tested every five years, and carbon fiber needs to be tested every three. It says the date that it needs to get hydroed on the tank.

    Hope this helps,

Certain Cabron Fibre tanks are 5 year hydros. Carleton and Luxfer tanks usually. To find out for sure, check the DOT#.

you can also look up "hydrostatic" in your local yellow pages. alot of places do that kind of testing.

                  Some Hydro Facts

                  1. Not all steel tanks are 5 year bottles. In fact, the paintball bottles that are a 3HT bottle (most steel PB bottles are 3HT) are 3 year bottles.

                  2. Fiber wrapped bottles are both 3 and 5 year test cycles. Some are 3 year, then are switched to 5 year after they have been tested. The only way to tell is to check with the DOT exemption site or drop me a note at [email protected] (yes other people know the answere's too).

                  Hope this helps.
