Bolt not resetting & on/off problem

When I air it up, the bolt moves forward about half an inch and leaks down the barrel. The trigger rod does not move at all. But after a very heavy oiling of the on/off, the on.off will start working. If it works, I pull the trigger, bolt goes forward, but does not reset( I attribute this to only having one shim in)

    Marker Specs:
    Emag valve w/ level 10
    1 shim, size 0 carrier
Carbon fibre frame and all that.

    So who can help?

i'm not an expert on emags... but what you seem to be experiencing is more valve/bolt based, so its not limited to teh emag....

my suggestion is to try the 1.5 carrier, 2 shims and the stock spring in the lvl 10 setup... this seems to be a pretty general starting place.... see if it works and go from there,.,.. i just dont know of any1 with 1 shim on the 0 carrier that has a working marker, so i'd suggest resetup as teh first measure...

You're not experiencing a shim problem. You have bolt stick.

First, though, are you using a .750" on-off pin? The emag on-off pin is shorter than the standard on-off pin and could cause air to flow through the on-off when the bolt is still forward. This alone could cause bolt stick.

The size 0 carrier seems tight. Have you gone through the level 10 setup procedure? The carrier should be just snug but not tight. Use the largest one that does not leak. Don't worry about the shims at this time. In fact, remove all the shims until you get everything working. Then fine tune your level 10 by adding shims.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

It should be the correct on/off. I played with it a month or so ago. But last time I pulled it out, I experienced the above problems. Could this leak just be due to the valve being broken in? I think it may have been sitting for a while before I bought it.

The bolt is snug, but not tight, with the 0 size carrier.

Check the o-rings in the on-off assembly. You may have a bad top oring.

I would suggest a complete cleaning. Maybe some dirt got into the valve causing sticking problems. between moving parts and their associated o-rings.
