Get a kit and you can have a couple different bore sizes and lengths, if you dont want a kit get a 12" its the best all around, there is a thread here some where that talks about barrel length and accuracy it basically says that extra inches do nothing for accuracybut help muffle the sound.

depends... most people prefer 10 to 12 for speedball for size issues, and most people prefer 14+ for woodsball. personally, i like the 10 inch, but i have a 12 inch teardrop now that is insanely accurate.
Yummy yummy yummy, I've got fun in my tummy.

14 inch is the most all around acurate. longer is quieter, shorter has more manuverability. but for the most accuracy, match your paint size to your barrel size which is where the barrel kit comes in. with kits you can change the bore size to match your paintball size which will give you greater accuracy. also barrels that step (get bigger at the tip) are very accurate. the crown point barrel from AGD does the same effect on the ball. both a stepping barrel and the crown point let go of the paintball gradually instead of just letting it go immediately. its a genius idea having somthing to do with air pressure in the barrel and outside of it. all i know is that it works like a charm.

i play speedball almost 100% of the time... 14" is the ideal barrel there because you are able to push into the bunker with your barrel to reveal the field without putting your big dome too far into the line of fire...

also 14 inch barrels allow you to aim more "accurately" down the barrel because they stick out farther toward your target. that increases your "margin of error" zone because line that your barrel draws in 3d space is longer which gives you a better perspective of where your barrels "line" will intersect the perpendicular plane of the target in question.

I've shot 10's, 12's, 14's, 16's and yes, an 18". 10 just seemed too short. 18 ridiculously too long for me. I'm sure it has it's role in scenario settings. 12 was good but didn't really stand out for me. 16 was very quiet and pretty darned accurate. Seemed to use a bit more air. Which brings us to 14. All around, the best 'fit' that worked for me. As magmandylan said, match barrel to paint for the best accuracy.
Now your next challenge is which manufaturer to choose. That's a whole new thread for you.
