My tank won't seal for some reason.

I have a 3a tank, which has a centerflag reg TTBOMK, that won't seal in the asa. I have tried changing the oring and oiling it like crazy. I tried it in 2 different asas. It leaks just too much to play without going crazy. I can't figure it out.

put a second o-ring on the tank right under the threads.

    ----- < o-ring
    ZZZ < Threads
    ----- < o-ring

and if that dont work put an o-ring in the asa at the very back and then screw in your tank.

I'll try that. I might try a softer hardware store black oring too.

it sounds like the pin is too long. The ASA on my maxflo is like that. Putting an o-ring in the ASA helped until I bought a screw on on/off for it.

Worst comes to worst you take it to your local pro or scuba/tank shop and have them take a look at it. I would do it just incase for saftey reasons and what not. Good Luck

I don't think the problem is with your tank, rather the pin in the ASA.

why would the pin have anything to do with it? I tried it on a female palmer stabilizer and a smart parts on/off. I was able to screw the tank in all the way.

just stick another tank oring inside the asa so the tank buts up to it and that will fix the problem usually its not a real uncommon issue

the "pin" I am referring to is inside the ASA. it is what opens the pin valve on your tank. If the ASA pin is too long it will start to open the pin valve before a proper seal has been made. The fact that the Stabilizer and the on/off work just helps prove the problem. Hopefully that helps explain your situation. Adding on oring inside the ASA helps to seal it off quicker. You could always try to grind down the pin inside the ASA, but I wouldn't go for something that drastic.
