    reg piston

hey everybody im new to the forum, and new to the world of automags. anyways, i just got an automag RT and i love it, the only thing is that it leaks out the back of the valve where you put the allen key in to adjust the velocity. ive been reading some of the old posts and everybody seems to say that the regulator piston is shot. I was just wandering what makes them go bad because i am lookin at mine right now and it looks fine, all nice and shiny and I replaced the o-ring so its good. I was just wanderin.

    thanks

It's something internal that is not for user adjustment. It's a wear item too, so sometimes they just wear out.

If you are using a lvl 10 it might be an older reg piston not set to use the higher levels of presure of the lvl 10 so it leaks

I had the same problem recently with one of my older RTs. I spoke to AGDJon himself, and he told me that the new pistons are designed to handle the higher pressure needed to overcome the stronger LVL10 spring.
