just a question - what kind of effect do shims have on the power of the bolt in it's low-speed stage(basically, on it's anti-chop ability). i know they help the bolt reset, but i also know that they make the marker start to vent at a different time(earlier or later?). what effect does that have on anti-chop ability?

The venting ability of the bolt due to shim placement does not seem to affect the force of the bolt on the ball in the first stage of the forward movement. I suspect it may have some affect, but it does not seem to be readily apparent.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
