its a dye. if its heavy, its the dye ss, if its light its the dye ultralight i think

Alright cool. Someone gave it to me and he said he thought it was a dye but it looks different than the newer models so i just wanted to check, and yea its an ultralight its aluminum. Thanks

oh yea, as for price, im not sure but most 1 piece dye barrels sell for 20-25 from what i have seen

Space Weazel is correct, if it was a Stainless, then it would be bare metal/silver, if it was an Ultralite, then it would have a bullge app. 5" from the back, either for the more modern screw in tips or the older glue in connection. I'd say $30 for a price if the bore is in great condition.
