    Ahh, nitro duck woes

Ok, so recently I traded for a 68/4500 nitro duck. It's an '00 tank, I'm pretty sure and it's adjustable, therein lies the problem. You see, it's really weird to adjust. There aren't interchangeable springs, instead there's a gold'ish knob that has a hole in it that you have to twist in one direction or another to adjust the output pressure. At first, this was pretty easy, I could twist the thing with relative ease. Then, while I was using it, the knob got really tight and I couldn't adjust it. So, I looked at it and thought that maybe there was a massive amount of friction, so I tried to oil it... nothing. So far this is all I've tried. If anyone's had any experience with this tank and had this problem, and fixed, please help me.... Thanks in advance.

Well, it may not be adjustable. It might not be an X-stream, it could be a Plasma 4500psi. That is of course if it's a screw-in. I'm guessing it is. If it has two gauges then it's an X-stream. If just one, then Plasma. If it's a Plasma then that knob might be the freakin burst disk.

webmstrk9 can answer your question better, but i believe there is a tool used to get it up to higher pressures

like the one in this site's pics

      take it from here Ken

by no means i know anything! lol

does your reg on your tank have dual gauges, one for pressure of the tank and the other output?

with the x-stream regs, ND would supply a tool to adjust the pressure. If it is adjustable, check your output pressure gauge to see if it's maxed. Also, with pressure in the tank it would be harder to adjust, but it shouldnt be impossible.

Like warbreak said, it may not be adjustable.

i always thought it was normal for for adjustable regs to become really hard to adjust once its gassed up cos of all the pressure behind it...

It's definitely not an X-stream reg... it's not a screw-in tank. It's definitely adjustable, and the problem doesn't have anything to do with the fact that it gets harder to turn the knob when the tank is pressurized. It seemed the more I used the tank and changed the pressure, the tighter and more difficult to adjust it got. It does have dual gauges though.

If you can imagine it, in the place of the screw-in threads, there's a gold'ish colored knob. This knob has a hole through it so you can put an allen wrench through it and twist it. I'll try to get some pictures up.

Thanks for all of the input... even though it doesn't really apply,

So, here are a few pictures of the reg that I took from the seller's thread.

Yes, it definitely is a Mega Reg. Also, it's actually a 2000 tank, not 2002.

I'm really stumped here... Can I send it in to Nitro Duck to be serviced even if I don't have the warranty card or any proof of ownership or whatever, since I traded for it on this forum? If not, what am I supposed to do with this?

you may want to check with a local paintball shop if you have one, they can probably give you some guidance. I'm sure if they've been around for a while, they've seen this reg come thru their shop in their years.

I don't know, I think this is probably a problem that could be fixed without taking it to a shop. I don't understand, it was working fine for the better part of the time I was playing with it. And then little by little, it began to tighten up. It just doesn't make any sense...

I would take it into the shop. You say you oiled and cleaned it and everything, so it really doesn't make sense. If the shop can't help, then this is wierd.
