removing the forward LP barb on a Timmy ram sleeve

Someone please tell me how the holy heck you get the forward LP barb out of the ram sleeve!!!!!!!!

I'm talking about the one that's in the middle of the body. I can't get the sleeve out without taking it off and I'm going insane.

It's a classic body which I don't think makes any difference but I figured I'd mention it.

THANK YOU FOR HELPING! A poor inocent Timmy is about to loose it's life over this.

Well, I got the barb out. Fortunatly I've got another one because this one didn't make it. I would still like to know how to get it our without destroying it.

On another note, how do you get the feed neck out of a classic body? The set screw is out but the neck itself is giving me a bunch of trouble.

use a socket...or my favorite a nutdriver...might have to shave it down a little. No problems, the right tool for the right job.

The feedneck on my AM is welded on....doesn't come off. I thought Classics were the same.

I guess I'll need to get a new socket because I couldn't get it to fit through the hole in the body so it wouldn't reach the hex on the barb.

I'm talking about a Classic Timmy body.

            Nut Driver

did you try the nutdriver? Sockets are generally quite thick walled...the nut driver you will probably have to grind down the outside until it fits in the body hole. I've heard of people using needle nose pliers, but you take a chance on slipping and ruining the barb.

I didn't because my kit is one of those that uses the sockets for the driver. Bummer.

That's what I ended up doing. In fact I basicly flattened the barb abd that gave me something to grip. Luckly I had purchased a high flow barb kit so I can replace the ruined one.

I'll have to look for a nut driver that size. A good tool to have in the PB toolbox I think. :)

              Thanks for the help!
