From chuff to no fire- HELP!!!

I got my new-to-me intelliframe yesterday. I installed it on the frame, gassed up, and could only get chuffs out of it. My first thought was to adjust velocity, that did no good- only made the chuffs louder. I thought it might be the trigger rod, so I lengthened it a bit. I gassed up, the trigger rod engaged the trigger, but when I pull it, NOTHING!

I tried adjusting the trigger rod some more, both longer and shorter. I still get nothing. I thought maybe that since my tank was almost empty, I didn't have enough psi to push the on/off. I got my tank filled this morning, and it's still more of the same. I can pull the trigger and feel pressure from the on/off. It just won't fire.

Does this have anything to do with the sear not engaging the bolt? Did I totally screw up the trigger rod?

I'd really like to play tomorrow- any help?

    Thanks in advance,
    Jon

BTW- I'm running a Classic Level 7, All new O-rings, reg seat, etc. installed.

Rule #1: Never Ajust The Trigger Rod.

that trigger rod is set to AGD's specs and should never be touched. It sounds like the problem might have been an empty tank. I would suggest investing in a new sear assy.

this is why we have the tech forum not to sound like a jerk or anything but with a mag before you do anything always ask first.

BTW make sure you keep the whole gun nice and lubed few drops in the ASA and a few shots after every game = one happy mag.

Okay... so I'm screwed for this weekend? Or is there any way to figure out how many threads should be showing on the trigger rod?

And I'm not offended, AnArchist... I did a search on the tech forums for "chuffing" and "trigger rod" And everything was about tank output or velocity. I figured out the tank output part after I had messed with the trigger rod. I'm a moron.

you might be able to get the trigger rod back to its origional position if you can make sure your velocity is good your tank is full and its outputting enough PSI oh ya and oil oil oil.

try to get teh trigger rod back to the set place... adjusting it is never a grand idea unless you know exactly what you're doing..... its ok to do, just as long as its absolutely needed.... what kind of marker do you have?.... what kind of body?.... if you have an rt with a ULe body you might need to tighten you field strip screw a little more than you have been.... changing grip frames should never affect anything that would make you chuff like velocity or air flow issues.... waht it might have done is yes, chage the activation point of the trigger, so rod adjustment is needed.... but then you said taht you made it longer, and that should have fixed the issue....
          \
well i suggest that you set your marker back to a happy default state before you try any other adjustments ... other than that issue with the FS screw, i'd have to hear more about your rig to make a fix..

Adjust your trigger rod so that it almost touches the back of the fully forward trigger when the gun is gassed up and at rest.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Ok... I think I've got it fixed. I forgot to mention the trigger setup. It's a used intelli that I bought from someone on AO. It had two trigger stops in it, and I think that was an issue also.
The trigger rod is barely touching the trigger. I know most people have said between a matchbook cover and a credit card space between the rod and trigger. However, I have a trigger stop that moves the trigger back maybe 2mm at full forward position.

Thanks for your help. I'll be buying a new sear assembly when I get a little more cash. This should work for now.

There is your problem. If the trigger rod is touching the back of the trigger, it can prevent the on-off from opening up all the way. This prevents rapid recharging of the front chamber. If you are rapid firing, the air consumption of the front chamber can't keep up to the demand/supply through the restricted on-off.
