    dual airline'd mag

i saw an interesting minimag this past sunday. i'm very interested in getting a mag, and so i asked the guy if i could test-fire it. he let me, and i noticed something really strange.....

he milled into the left side of the valve and tapped it and now he has 2 airlines running to the valve, one on the left, and one on the right. kinda weird but hella cool
he said he was a machineist and went into detail about how the inside of the valve has only 4 holes and he drilled it out so now there is 8.

the body was powdercoated white and he said he has had the gun for 10 years and never changed out a part on it.
did they make minimags 10 years ago?

it seems like those modifications would give it better airflow, but he had a single finger benchmark frame on it, and i dont think anybody could shoot fast enough to have drop off on that gun with a single trigger. dont mags with classic or minimag valves start to have drop off at around 15-18 bps?

i just found this gun to look kinda cool and unique.

Yes, they made mini's back then. As for the other stuff, I gracefully bow to the knowledge of my fellow mag owners.

The extra holes drilled into the valve back only helped in the oringinal level 7 valve. The single holes didn't line up and could hamper the air flow.

An additional air line would do nothing but add more bulk and extra places to leak.

AIR valves could handle 16bps if the trigger was pulled and released properly.

Minimags were manufactured over 12yrs ago.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

The dual line in mod is pretty damn cool. I have seen it in pics before so I have to agree with you. I looks tight!
