I;m guessing your using CO2? if so then when unscrewing your tank make sure the tank is vertical, when it's in the horizontal position you could be getting liquid co2 rushing out as you unscrew it and this will eat o-ring faster.

best thing to do is to buy an on/off ASA, they allow you to disengage the tank before you unscrew it, so you can dry fire the marker to releave the preasure on teh line, ie. less co2 escapes around the oring.

Sometimes the quality of the o-rings has an effect on how they last as well. Generally though, if you keep liquid CO2 away from the o-rings while screwing on or off the tank, the o-rings will last for years.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

            is it sliceing them?
or just making them get all big?

if they get all big, just let it sit, and it shrinks back to normal size and works good still.

i have a green o-ring that came with my dragun TES, on one of my co2 tanks. the top of the valve on it got crunched when i dropped it, and it pinches the o-ring. when i unscrew it from my pump gun, it gushes air out like a mofo; and the o-ring gets huge and whiteish. i just let the tank sit for a lil bit, and the o-ring shrinks and it is useable again. i'v had it working for a year now. lol

i have the normal clear o-rings too, they do the same thing.
