    Gun shooting so fast

    Hi,

please go easy on me because I am a noob and have barely used my minimag.

i bought a minimag used from these forums and basically its a minimag with an RT valve and level 10.

i know the guy who i bought it from did alot of messing around with it but i cant get a hold of him and its been about a year since i bought the gun and only have used it 3 times.

basically the problem is that its shooting REALLY REALLY FAST. like unbelievably fast. the rate of fire is way too much, its chopping balls even with the level 10 and a halo cant even keep up with it.

DO you know how I can adjust the rate of fire with this gun? is it something with the trigger maybe or is it simple thing on the RT valve. how do u turn down the rate of fire on these guns?

    thanks

Turn down the input air pressure, if you have an adjustable reg. That could very well be it.

Also make sure you fully tighten the valve field strip screw with an allen wrench and that the on/off pin is .750."

        BlackVCG,
What do you mean by the On/off pin being .750"? I've experienced this issue once...

        Thanks,
        David

            Classic Valve diagram

yours is a retro valve so some slight differences but what he is talking about is the pin in the on/off asembly the part that slides into the side of the valve, the length of that pin effects how hard teh RT valve "kicks" back after it shoots lessoning this kick can make your gun shoot slower and the .750 he talks about is .750 of an inch to find out you really need a caliper since it's the thousands of an inch that can make a difference with this
            Guns
Tippman SL-68 II (First gun and still lovin it)
            X-Mag XT00160 (Shiny and Blue)
Custom 'AlphaMag' Mag (X-Valve, Chromed Y-grip, Chromed Galatix Z-body, Gloss Black Rogue Rail)

i was thinking something more of a worn sear but I guess it would be nearly full auto in that case.

In order to shorten the pin you really have to buy another. They come in .750, .712, and .765.
