Possible to re-engrave a classic valve?

I've got a real old 68 automag (CF00455), and it's old enough that the engraving is starting to wear off.

Is this something that can be touched up, or polished off and redone?

I would think the cost to re engrade it would be about the same as getting a new valve. I belive Tunaman has them for a reasonable price.

most often the engraving is still there as a depression, only the color change in the surface material is gone.

if you fill the depression with something like crayon wax, and then use a rag to wipe it off of the rest of the valve (light pressure only so it doesn't clean it out of the engraving again) it should be noticable.

it wouldn't be the same. having a new valve isn't nearly as cool as having one of the first 500 automags ever made.
