emag = dead?

so.....

if i say or did anything outrageously stupid, don't flame please...i'm new to mags...and i'm and idiot on top of that so...

the problem:

i got my warp feed, and with it came an intellifeed cable. i notice that my emag has the correct form of plug on the board...so i naturally assume they come intellifeed ready. (not sure if they really are). i plug everything in and plug the battery in. screen flickers and shuts off, trigger no longer actuates the soli. i recharge the battery and try again with similar results. i remove trigger magnet and try again with similar results...

What did I do to my baby??

Make sure the grounding screws are tight. There's one on the board and also make sure the battery connections at the front of the grip frame are tight too.

The emags do come intellifeed ready, so I don't think that is ure prob. have you tried unplugging the intellifeed from the board though? the only other thing I could think of is that the trigger magnet is too close to the HESS but you said you removed the magnet from the trigger... did you force the plug in the wrong way? it should only go in one way.
It really sounds like the trigger magnet to me, I would try playing with that and see what happens.

hope this helps.

when you say removed the trigger magnet do you mean the one on top of the grip frame or the one on the back of the trigger?? you need to back out the one on the trigger thats all i can guess if thats not it then you may start thinking about getting a new board!! also if your holding the trigger down that could be an issue let it go!!

i took out the one behind the trigger...

i would agree and just say my board is *POOF*, but i got it to boot up correctly a few times. i could scroll through the menus for 7-10 seconds and then it shut off again....go damnit

Check all the electrical connections from the battery to the board including ground connections. What is the battery voltage? It should be around 18v fully charged, but anything over 16.8v should be fine.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

ok, heres the new deal.

i can get it to boot up occasionally. and most of the time, it boots up somewhat correctly, the screen is really faded and it flickers random symbols...but it seems to be on ( i can cycle through menus and stuff).

but it never just turns on and works correctly for more than 10 seconds or so. is it bad to charge your battery only a little bit and then use it and repeat?

re:

The flashing of random symbols happens when the mag is too close... I wonder if the wires to the hess got pinched and are shorting out? Have u had the hess sensor out? Have u been able to use this mag at all before, or did u just get it? Other than that I would check the voltage of the battery, if ure battery is on the verge of death the same thing would happen.
