Level 10 and DIablo Heat = Blender

So I'll share my sob story with ya'll. I decided to give the old Heat a whirl since I'd never shot the stuff before and it'd be "an experience". Well, it really did turn out to be an experience. Previously I'd been shooting PMI Premium and loving it, shot my last 110 of the stuff then loaded up with Heat. First shot after the last PMI ball exited the barrel was nothing but shot-gun effect which continued, and continued, and continued... the Straight Shot and Battle Swab were both dead from the work-out.

So I did the natural thing and changed to the smallest carrier instead of the single line carrier. So, with the smallest carrier and the silver spring installed (previous chrono was 280), along with a good cleaning of the rest of the Mag I ventured forth to attempt again, the verdict... well... I didn't even get a chance to put any paint over the chrono.. First ball out of the gate went the way of the dodo. After much continued frustration and cleaning I decided to see just how brittle this Heat was. With a light toss against a Redwood the little ugly green sphere fractured and sent it's brilliant yellow fill over my target. This continued for approximately 10-15 balls until one finaly bounced. I attempted the same thing with some fresh GAP and had ever ball I lobbed at the tree bounce.

So, I stepped up to the Red Spring, I actually got a string of 5-6 balls off before disaster struck yet again. Baffled and sure that something had to be able to shoot this stuff I ran this paint through a Matrix, Cocker, Spyder, A5, Angel, Shocker, same story. So there's my sad... sad story for the week...

Paint/barrel match? How old was the paint? Honestly, I have had a lot of barrel breaks with Heat, not to mention, the last time I wasted money on Heat, the balls looked like golf balls, and they were extremely brittle. Stick with PMI if it is working for you.

Paint was small, it rolled through my .685 CP barrel. I tried my .693 too, that didn't help either. I would continue to use PMI but there just isn't anyone who sells it up here. It looks like we're going to be switching to GAP here in a week or so, the Heat was just so increadibly brittle. I hope the Mag likes GAP or I'm really going to be up a chocolate creek without a popsicle stick.

Let me tell you all, it seems like this winter there is an AWEFUL LOT of really really BAD paint out there. I got 6 cases of unshootable 32* and 5 almost unshootable proball since November.

If you live where its cold you have to buy winter fill, like Arctic Inferno, that paint would should fine in the summer but the cold temps make thin shelled summer paint brittle, its not the guns, my friends halo was breaking paint the other day.

So true, though I live on the North Coast of California so it doesn't get really cold here too often. I swear, PMI Premium's always treated me well, except for the 6 months of so after they switched to the advantage shell.... Anyway, I'm going to attempt to "revitalize" my paint using a method sudgested by GAP.
