    crossfire HPA question

i searched online and some sites say that the preset output is 850psi and others say its 800psi. does anyone know which one is right? ive checked the company's site and they dont list the outputs. I just bought an xvalve thru the xchange program and need to get a new tank. would output of 850 psi have any adverse affects on the valve?

850 will not have any adverse effects on the valve. Adjustable tanks are great to have for x valves as they give you the ability to really fine tune your trigger. If you can't afford an adjustable, a high pressure preset is what you want and the Crossfire comes highly recommended.

thanks for the info, how many shots do you get per fill and what setup do you have?

I get about 1300 out of a 92" 4500 Dynaflow on a mech mag with X-valve & ULT. I used to get about 1000 out of a 68" 4500 Max Flo and the same out of a 68" 4500 Bulldog. A buddy of mine runs an 88" 4500 Crossfire on a classic with Level 10 and he get's about 1300 shots per fill.
I prefer the bigger tank as I'm a fairly big guy so the size doesn't bother me, but the pretty long uphill walk back to the fill station does

I use an 88/4500 Crossfire. It's a great tank if you don't mind the size.

whats the difference between a 68 3000 psi and a 68 4500 psi tank? sorry if its a stupid question. its the same size but it holds more air?

A 68/3000 tank holds 68 cubic inches of air. However, the gas is stored at 3000 psi. The 68/4500 tank contains the same amount of air (space-wise), but at a HIGHER pressure. Simply put, the air in the 4500psi tank is more concentrated than the air in the 3000psi. Therefore, you get more "shots" out of a 4500psi tank.

Think of it as a balloon.

You take two identical balloons: Fill one balloon up all the way, and fill the second only half-way. You now have two balloons that are the same size, but the first holds more air than the second because of a higher concentration.

My crossfire only puts out 700 psi. They have great customer service though, I contacted them and they had me send in my tank, they will raise it to 900 for free, just had to pay for shipping. The more pressure you put into your X-valve, the faster the recharge rate and more reactive trigger.

Not sure if they're out yet, but the new 4ce from Centerflag is supposed to be pretty reasonably priced. It's not as adjustable as a dynaflow, but it gives you a lot more flexibility than the standard preset
