Automag/minimag valve's

What are the differences in the two valves, can I put a mini valve on a 68 s/f?

Classic valve has one star and is lazer etched Classic. Full Automag Valve has Three stars and is lazer etched Automag. Minimag valve has four stars and lazer etched Mimimag. So it's just a warranty issue. They are the same otherwise and interchangable.

All parts of the minimag, and 68 automag are interchangable.

Some valves don't have stars. It depends on how old the valve is. They are located next to the serial number if you have any. The stars are used for a free rebuild instead of the $45 charge.

Yours may have been pre-Star system. They would be on the regulator body of the valve just above the serial numbers. For those see the warranty info on the AGD site linked above.

BTW, where are the stars located? I could find any on my valve.
