    Problems with RT Pro

I am trying to fix a my friends RT Pro. It seems to be short stroking. While firing it makes a weird sound then I have to fuddle with the trigger or hit the back of the marker for it to fire properly. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Also do I need to buy a special LVL 10 for the RT?

Level 10 will work on ANY marker. No special version needed (unless you own one of the 35 Shocktech SFL Emags).

turn up the velocity nut (unless you know it's shooting 300fps), if that doesn't work try switching to a larger carrier.

I know my RT Custom didn't wanna work properly until I checked what it was chrono'ing in at and it was WAY low.

Make sure both screws, field strip and grip frame are tightened the same amount, unever pressure on the screws cause the body to warp a bit making the bolt stick. you might have to tighten the fieldstrip a little past hand tight with a key. Good lcuk

I've always thought you weren't supposed to make the strip screw more than finger tight.

Does tool tight create a problem?

Hey, if you're using an On/Off ASA, try turning the knob "on" more to open up more air flow...friend of mine had a problem like the one you have...when he opened up more air flow it would work fine...

I suspect you are getting bolt stick. Use the largest carrier that doesn't leak. Make sure the velocity is up at the proper setting.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

The carrier is the brass ring inside the powertube that holds the white o-ring. It seals against the bolt stem. The carriers make the o-ring tight or loose depending on which one you use. They are marked with lines and dots. A dot = 0.5. Each line = 1.0 So, you can read the size depending on the number of lines on the outside of the carrier.

If the carrier is too tight, it will grip the bolt stem too tightly and prevent the bolt from properly firing or resetting. The optimum size is the largest one that does not leak.

                      look for this!!!

                      Hey, DW72

I'm havin the same problem with my x-valve. I did some research. heres what I found. Use this AGD diagram of the RTP valve to see the part I'm talkin about. http://www.airgun.com/downloads/retroexploded1.pdf
I found out that if a regulator valve pin assembly O-ring goes bad (cracks like mine did) you could possibly get shoot down and have problems shooting ... my valve is only like a year old and I started havin problems like yours. Had to hit the back of the valve to get it to shoot in the middle of a game (was really PISSED) I've spent about 3 months looking into this. I haven't had the cash to buy the new part ($27.00 on the agd web site) but look in the link for the part. You should be able to disassemble the valve to see if that's the possible problem or not. good luck on the fix.
