Out of the Loop for a while, Need Advice.

I'm thinking about getting back into the sport, I have a Automag P/F that was beefed up for its time, but I havn't done anything to it in years. I was wondering whether it is worth trying to modify it to compete against the likes of my friend's Shocker or just go with a x/e-mag. Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

HA! you just opened a real can of worms...

with xvalve (includes lvl 10), ult, trigger mod, etc, mine is damn near walkable. that being said, it isnt an electro and doesnt have the same benefits or drawbacks as a shocker. Trigger vs batteries vs weight.... it gets complicated but each have their own advantages.

I'm gonna keep the mag either way, can't let it go! I just don't want to put a ton of $$ in it and it still be handicapped or something. By the way, what is a devil mag?

Welcome, and you are in the same boat I am in, other than the fact that you are tring to compete with a Shocker. All my buddies have Tippmanns, so I still have the 'more expensive oh la la' gun.

If you have the cash to spend, electro guns seem to be the way to go. I am just going to modify my gun to work for what I want it to do, and just let her go like that. At least have to deem it nessary to replace it after I go down in a large ball of paint.

To compete with the average marker these days, you should be able to just modify your existing gun and go. It seems that general concensus around here and on some of the other paintball forums, that the mag is still a fearsome beast whether a regular, or electro gun.

I think the devil mag can be viewed at www.devilmag.tv or www.devilusa.tv? something along those lines. Do a quick search for it in the forums and you will come up with the proper link. I know that if I had the cash, I would have to own one.

Fight fire with fire is the saying. When I felt the RT wasn't cutting it I snagged me an Emag. Night and day difference over what I formally used. More than enough to compete on the average day. If you feel that isn't enough. Supercharge it with a Predator board. Then you to can have the ultimate power in the universe.

Thanks for the info, after checking out the ULE Mag article on Warpig and the DevilMag it seems that I will likely go with an upgrade of some sort. Glad to see the Mags can still compete!
