turning belocity down = barrel leak?

i read somewhere that turning the velocity down causes a leak down the barrel (with level 10) is this true?

my gun was fine the other day but it was shooting too close to 300fps. so i turned it down, but then i ran out of air (i was not at a field). since then i took the gun apart to lube the internals. then, yesterday i went to a game and it was leaking down the barrel. So i was wondering if this was cos of me turning the veloicty down? or did i just not put sumthing together right.

my gun is shooting around 250fps now btw.

If you get leaking when you turn down the velocity. then you probably have too many shims in the powertube.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

the only side effect I have heard from turning the velocity down on LX bolt is that it will not shoot. not enough pressure to overcome the bolt spring. of course you can put in a lighter bolt spring to counter this.

"super multi-green mag" Cp barrels, LX bolt, no-rise, intelli, 47ci flatline, halo................
Red dragun body, turbo valve, 12" Boomstick, Spud magics anti-chop bolt with quickstrip, ELCD, nitroduck 68CI,Gas thru stock, 12V revy, AGD Warpfeed system

        change carrier oring
        the if all else fails
-go down a carrier size w/fresh oring

If the gun didnt leak with the number of shims you have in there before then it should be alright.

What happens at lower velocity (lower pressure) is that the carrier isn't forced as far up the stem or as tight on the stem of the bolt. With less shims, if the carrier o-ring is near the vent hole, it still won't leak unless the carrier is too loose.
