Could be a few things dude. I had a similar issue with mine, but these tend to be teething problems. Firstly ensure the field strip and frame screws are equally torqued and not excessivley. Too much force on these will bow the body and give you problems. Secondly, check your on/off pin (by manually working it through the on/off bottom, then the top to ensure that it glides freely through the rings) While the on/off is apart lube it well. A finer grade is better than a heavier grade for this. If you should find as I did, a slight catch in the on/off bottom, this will be enough to prevent the on/off from returning to a position where it can be reliably actuated by the sear. I rectified this by carefully grasping the on/off top and working up and down through the on/off bottom unti it freed up a bit, lubing it well then, reassembling.
See how this goes, let me know how you fare. Once it is up and running, you will be well pleased with your Mag. -
If it works fine with 4 but sticks with 5, then go with that configuration. 5 shims apparently is allowing the on-off to release air before the bolt is fully seated. This is pushing the bolt forward and preventing the bolt from sitting in a position so that the sear can move to lock the bolt and allow the on-off to recharge the chamber.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.Comment
