    Help w/ Dye 2x frame

How do I get the safety from the original frame to work on the Dye. There are no threads to put the set screw in to apply tension to the spring that hold the safety in place
Since you can't beat me on the field, why don't you beat me off!!!

Either you can tap the hole with a 4-40 tap, or just put the ball and spring in there and set the rail on easy. Thats the way Mags used to be. You don't need the set screw for it to work. Hope this helps..

erac- I tapped my frame with a 4-40 tap and put the spring and ball in it from the MAG frame. I did have to stretch the spring a little so that the tension would be right on the safety.

OK...Now I have another question. What ball??? I guess I didnt see it when I tore the old frame apart. Is it small enough to go through the middle of the spring, and is that what holds the safety in, just a spring and a ball. I may have a small bearing from by R/C days that I can tear apart if thats what I need. Right now I only have the spring in there and the safety goes all the wat through.

You need the ball. It has to have one or it won't work. It is the ball that gives you the little "clicks", from riding in the safety pin grooves.

So I dont need the set screw, I can just stretch the spring, but I do need the ball. Does the ball fit inside the spring? Or is it larger than the spring and rides between the safety and the spring?

I found the ball on the floor under my workbench . Then I stretched the spring and put it all back together....It works perfectly now....Thanks.
