Safety is stiff?

The safety on my X is quite stiff. After cleaning and oiling, it is still stiff. Any idea why or how to fix it?

as you use it it will loosen up, there is a small screw on the grip frame, if you loosen it a little the safety will as well.

Is it stiff pushing it both ways? If so, then you just have a spring that needs to be shortened. Have you disassembled the safety to clean the ball and spring? The balls tend to rust if they aren't kept clean and that will add to the stiffness of the safety. Usually taking a pair of dikes and cutting off a coil from the spring is the best method. Be sure to put the cut end away from the ball.
