    E-Mag short stroking?

I have read that the E-Mag can not short stroke in "E" mode or in "Hybrid" mode. I'm not too sure about that, when ever I shoot my E-Mag ( with or with out paintballs ) at a high rate of fire it occasionally sounds and functions like it short stroked ( usually chopping a ball too ). If in fact this is happening ( short stroking ) could it be an O-Ring issue?

I believe your problem is that you may be outshooting your hopper. Do you have a warpfeed?

I have a "Ricochet" for now, but the gun still makes that weird sound when ever I am just "dry firing" at a high rate. That's what has me wondering if I may have an O-Ring problem or some other internal problem.

Hey, I've been experiencing the same problem with my Emag. If you do find out what it is, please let me know. I'm very curious.

Hmm... interesting. I don't have an E-Mag and haven't had much time working with them so it would take having one in my hands that has this problem to figure it out. The only thing I can think of is the make sure that the quad o-ring is sealing properly by putting the gun into mechanical mode and holding the trigger back with the gun gassed up. If you get a lawn sprinkler sounding leak, then replace the on/off top o-ring with a urethane one from an RT parts kit. Also, make sure your tank is flowing well and that the output is around 700-800psi. It basically sounds like the gun is being starved of air which is usually an on/off pin length / on/off top o-ring issue or a flow issue from the tank.

Edit: Keep in mind that the black quad o-ring in the E-Mags is used to solve problems with the bolt sticking in E-Mode when the gun has the standard cast urethane o-ring. If your quad o-ring is worn out and you replace it with a urethane o-ring, pay attention to the fact that this might cause bolt stick in E-Mode. You'll have to get new quad o-rings directly from AGD in order to solve both issues.

            Check your ball feeding rate

Although you may have a more technical problem, I bet it's most likely a case of you outshooting your hopper. After a weekend with the Emag, I have realized that I should buy a Warp...

As he said, it happens when he is dry firing.
