I can't connect my slidecheck from my vertical bottle to my reg. It seems just a tad to short. Am i doing anything wrong? I just got it three days ago.

Ok, I was just there, two days ago. I just got my gun, and there's a 'trick' to doing it.
1st slide the regulator into the gun, then attach the thumbscrew to hold it in. Then take the hose and bend and push it upwards so you'll have room to make the connection. Hold the slide back, and push the hose onto the nipple. Make sure the hose aligns correctly, not angled.
Then pull the slide and push with other hand until you get it on. You kind of have to push the back side of the bend in the hose and hold the check valve open with the other hand.
Because the gun is new, the connection will be pretty stiff, and will need some effort to get it on. After you take it apart a few times, it will get easier to do, because the hose will relax a bit.
