classic valve bolt spring problem

hi, can i replace original bolt spring which brokes by just ordinary similar pressure spring from hardware store?
im from slovakia and there is no possibility to find parts from agd (actually i have probably last mag in my country - i cant find any store in europe (except agd england which seems long time without actuallization) with agd parts...and payng $$ for US shipping from 3$ spring looks crazy...
