I need help, i just got a automag RT "original" from a friend. the only problem is that it leaks out the back. i looked at the online manual from the airgun designs site but it just said turn the velocity down, i tried that and it won't stop even when the velocity adjustment screw seemed like it would pop out. it seems to leak until the pressure in the tank is below 3000 psi, but i don't see how that makes a difference. by the way he just replaced all the o-rings in the bolt less than a year ago before he gave it to me.
AutomagRT leaking out back, HELP

Im going to say that the problem is most likely your regulator piston and regulator piston oring. Since you say that you have an "original rt" i believe that the regulator pistons on those vented at a much lower pressure which causes that leak out the back that you hear. The newer ones vent at a much higher pressure. But first try oiling the regulator piston assembly first because a majority of the mags problems can be fixed with oil. You may have to purchase a newer regulator piston/oring and make sure you oil them up when you put them in. PM Tunaman . I know hes my number one resource for agd quality parts and he ships fast too! -

carbonblue thank you so much for the tech advice, it seemed to work. in a week or two i'll go paintballing and "field test" it and make sure it definitely works without leaking, but the regulator piston seemed to be the problem. Thank You so much!Comment

no problem man glad i could help. Now dont forget to oil your on/off assembly (brass piece on the bottom of the valve with all the orings). You can pull that out with your finger tips. Just rub some oil around it and a drop or two down the hole in which it goes in. A few more drops of oil in ASA, some on the bolt stem and bolt itself will ensure that everything is oiled properly.
