Emag Grips: Original or xtra crispy?

I have emag lowers with custom grips. Looks like metal plate with rubber insert in the middle. Im wondering if the original emag rubber grips are any good? Im trying to make the emag lowers a little more "water proof". The current grips have a small, paper thin gap between grips and panels. I might even go so far as to use a thin sheet of rubber to go between the panels and the grips.

    ANy ideas?

The original panels are very "flimsy" and can't really be sealed.

You can easily make a "gasket" to put behind your current panels. You can make them out of paper gasket material, or run a small thin bead of silicone (gasket maker) around the edge of the panels, let it dry over night, then install.
