    question about on/off top

    just bought a mag used, when I took the on/off assembly apart I noticed the on/off top was different than the one from my previous mag.

    so, here is a pic of the two. the one on the assembly is the mystery top.

    anyone know what its origins are?

          same problem mine just looks like a + on the bottom

              The one on the assembly is an after market top. The one beside it is a newer AGD universal top. It is the one you should be using.

              An older top has a X cut in the bottom of it and was eventually replaced in production with the universal (anyway is up) top.
              Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

                  the universal one is from a previous mag and was causing problems.. I think.. I replaced it, and it things worked fine. Then aftermarket one is from my current mag that I just got. I put the universal one back in and it was causign problems too, so I am just going to get a new one.. but I was curious if anyone knew what kind the aftermarket one was.

                      You say the AGD top was causing problems? Are you using the proper white teflon o-ring on the top or a urethane o-ring? The only way an AGD top could cause problems would be if it was deformed.

                      What kinds of problems?
                      Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

                          there was a leak in the gun, and when I pulled the trigger the leak didnt stop.
