    Automag myths to clear up...

    Hey guys!

    This is my first post.
My previous marker experience is 3 years with a Tippmann A5. I'm about to get my hands on a minimag left-feed, and I've heard alot of info about Automags that I wasb't sure was true, some of which is on this forum. I hope you guys and girls out there can clarify for me.

    1. Automag internals have a genuine regulator built-in by default and do not require
    one..

    2. Automag threads are completely compatible with WGP Autococker barrels

    3. Automags are low maintenance. Just put 3 drops of oil in the "oil here" slot.

So far, that's all I've got. I appreciate you guys taking the time to educate a newb like me. I know the forum is full of threads like these. I just want to discern as clear as possible fact from fiction.

    Thanks

      1. True

      2. Not sure, I have the old twist lock body

      3. True. You may have to replace an oring or spring now and then. My Mech mag has the same 10 year old parts. I may have to replace the piston Oring. My emag is a hybrid (mech mag body, twist lock barrel, Emag rails and lowers).

        1. True.

        2. Only with ule, tac one, x-mag or slug body. Minimag body does not have cocker threads.

        3. True-ish, you will have to do some maintenance from time to time.

          1. True, you see some people with front regs on thier mag. I dont know if they are trying to smooth out thier pressure so it is more constant or just trying to look cool.

          2. True on all none twist-loc
2a. Note annother cool thing about mags is most of thier parts are compatible across modles. EG you can put a Emag valve on an RT aslong as you just keep the RT on/off.

          3. See http://www.havoc-online.com/ for his recomended maintance.

              RE:
#3: Don't put the oil in the "oil here" slot. Put it directly into the ASA, then hook up your air, fire a few shots (without barrel) to get the oil through the valve.
              Easy as pie.
