    Pesky Leak

Whats up. I'm new to mags but have read enough to know that my new ule has a break-in period. The gun was oiled when I got it from Rogue, after playing with it for a few times I field stripped it and added a little more. Now I hear a really faint (have to put the gun to me ear) leak out of the forward most hole on the side of the xvalve. Aslo, I've noticed that it's not quite as consistent over the chrono, i'm getting differentials of 10-12 fps between shots, where velocity fluctuation was just about non-existent the first few weekends. I'd appreciate any input you guys could send my way, thanks.

lube you powertube ring.. then gas it up and turn the velocity up in small amounts and listen if the leak goes away. if not... get a 2 size smaller carrier in and try again

why jump 2 sizes down? one size won't make a difference?

Will this improve consistency as well? or is that a seperate issue you think?

i couldn't tell you about cinsistancy.. but a leak probably affects it. sorry i also meant move 1 carrier size down, not 2.

wouldn't a leak out the side of the valve mean you need to lube the reg. valve pin oring assembly?

Remove the velocity adjuster from the back of the valve and clean the back of the valve and the adjuster. Check the condition of the o-ring on the regulator piston assembly. It should be fine but if it has any visible nicks or abrasions, replace it. Replace the parts and try the gun.

Dirt is one of the main causes for leaks in all guns. Every so often a good cleaning can solve many problems and keep your mag operating at peak performance.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
