    Nothing But Problems

Two months ago I bought a used RT Pro from PBN, and it was probably one of the worst mistakes I have ever made. I expected a high quality, near indestructable marker, but I have had nothing but problems so far. The original problem I had was that I was getting insane blowback ( can you say ductaped lid?) and chopping like a japanese chef. Me being a mag newb, I took it to a paintball "pro" shop, where they said I had a piece in backwards. what the problem really was, that they didnt notice, was that there was no bolt bumper on the valve. So I ordered one from AGD, and installed it. Yesterday was the first time I have been able to get air since then, and I was hoping all my problems would be solved. Unfortunately, now it will not even fire. When aired up, there is return pressure on the trigger, but it would not break and fire. I tried turning the velocity up, and whe I pulled the trigger, it began leaking down the barrel, and would not stop untill I removed my tank from the ASA. I came here looking for help, and found that not only was my trigger pin set too far forward, but also that there shouldnt be any loose parts in the lvl10 bolt. Apparantly the powertube tip has snapped off at the o ring, but it was such a clean break that newbie me assumed that was how it was supposed to be. This morning, I adjusted the trigger pin to the recommended 1mm behind the trigger, oiled the on/off really well, and checked all the o rings. Everything looked fine, but when I gassed the marker up, I had the same problem as before.

If anyone wants a little job to do, I will pay for someone to remove the bottom half of the powertube tip, and get me a replacement.

    Thanks!

wow, I just realized that the store i took it to didnt notice that the powertube tip was broken as well as the missing bumper. It was the owner himself that looked at it, and it is a reputable store. He owns two fields and is building a dedicated paintball store. I dont think he got that far by being stupid.

I think you are right, this seems like it is getting out of my hands, and someone that really knows what they are doing needs to see it.

You bought a lemon, it happens to everyone eventually that does internet trading. It has nothing to do with the quality of the marker.

Make sure you leave appropriate feedback.

              Hey hotshot,

Looks like we both play at Paintball Plus in W-boro. Small world, huh. I'm using a Tac-one and play on a scenario team with a great group of guys up there called "cobra company" every couple weekends. We all have Cobra patches on our camos left shoulder, so if you see us, come on over and say hi.

About your mag problem. Definitely consider sending it to Tunaman or at least contacting him and asking what he thinks it needs to fix the problem. I just recently did some business with him, and he's definitely top-notch. You can email him at [email protected]. Tell him about your problem -- I bet he'll be able to help.

Nice to know there are some of you all in my area. I managed to somehow remove the powertube tip threads with an allen key, and tunaman has offered to send me a replacement (tuna is awesome!). I will install that once i get it, and hopefully some other problems will clear up. I am wondering if my on/off pin is too short. The marker should at least do something when the trigger is pulled other than leak when the velocity is tuned up.

Is the leaking sound you are hearing coming down the barrel, or does it sound like it is coming from the regulator overpressure relief valve?

it is down the barrel, and happens only when I turn the velocity up and pull the trigger. otherwise the trigger does nothing.

there a few possible reasons for this since you have the Lvl X super bolt this needs to be set for your gun and from the condition it was in when you got it it probly isn't, Go Here to see how to do this.

Also little more info does your mag have the ULT on/off, check by removing the part that have the on/off pin and if it has small shims between two parts that are screwed together then it is, if it hase a small perferated brass ring that is completely seperate from the bottom half then it's not.

Send it to tuna, he is fair. Quick shipping, and a good guy to know when you have a mag.

New development! WIth the velocity set as low as possible, and without the powertube tip, the marker would leak down the barrel when Aired up and the trigger not depressed, which I assume is because of the missing powertube tip. When the trigger was pulled however, the marker would "fire" and not leak untill the trigger was released. I asssume this means the on/off is working correctly. Even though I do a lot of assuming, I am taking this as a good sign that as soon as i get the powertube tip everything should be fine.

One more problem though- when the trigger rod is set correctly, the on/off pin catches the body, and the valve cant be removed untill I find something to push the trigger rod farther into the grip.

                              A Powertube tip later....

More problems- Trigger not activating. When the marker is aired up, the trigger rod just barely has a small amount of space betweeen it and the trigger, just enough to slip a piece of paper through. I have heard this is corect, but it still wont fire. There is return pressure on the trigger though. Should I change the position of the trigger pin so that it is touching the trigger when aired up?
