    This is the updated version with replacing switch 1 and 3 with a center off switch.

    Up is to connect the batts in parralell center is for off and down connects batt 2 only but switch 2 the normal switch has to be off.

    Also I'm getting a little mixed up with everyone's answers, would this work? and would there be any benefit by using it how I described?

      If one of the batteries is dead or near dead, do not keep that battery in the circuit when you add the fresh battery. The fresh battery will try to charge the dead battery. That's wasted power.

      If you have an on/off/on type switch, do this:

      up = battery 1 on
      center = off
      down = battery 2 on
      Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

        So basically I can't do the batteries in series if i have 1 low battery because the fresh one will charge the old.

        And instead of wiring 2 in parralell you can wire 2 to one center off, on/off/on, switch and the only thing you will be losing is the old battery draining idea that i had, which seems will not work.

        And you gain an on/switch.

        I think that I will do that instead of the traditional
        parralell mod.

          Good explanation AT. Now let's go fight the hordes that condone this parallel battery behavior.

            Here is a circuit diagram for switching between one of two batteries. I'm not sure that is what you were trying to accomplish, but... Here it is anyway.

              That wasn't my original idea but it looks like it'll work as long as it is a center off. I hate when it accidentally gets bumped at the wrong times.
