RT Pro Rail vs. Tac Rail [ULT Problems]

Long-time reader here who has recently rejoined the world of mag owners...

My last mag was a plain 68mag that got sold off in 98 or 99, so I'm still getting used to things like the lvl 10 and ULT. The new mag I have is an RT Pro with X-valve, LVL10 and ULT, brand new from AGD less than a month ago.

Here's my problem: I don't care for the standard RT Pro rail, the brackets really, so I picked up a Tac Rail to replace it, and for the life of me I can't get the ULT to stop bouncing like crazy when I put the Tac Rail on, are there different tolerances for the Tac Rail? I have set up the gun to work fine with the RT Rail (3 or 4 ULT shims I believe) but it just keeps bouncing like crazy (pretty much full auto) when I put it on the Tac Rail, even with no shims.

Do I need to adjust the length of the actuator rod? Is there a different on/off pin length I need for the Tac Rail? Is the issue my tank? (pre-set crossfire is giving out around 1100psi)

I know the RT's bounce is affected by input pressure, but I was able to set the ULT to little or no bounce (no sweet-spot) just fine with the same tank and RT rail.

The gun shot great the other weekend, or so my fiance tells me (I got it for her) and the only thing changed is the rail.

1100 psi is your bounce that is for sure... Do you mean 1100 psi is left in the tank, or 1100 psi is going through your valve? I think that preset crossfires give aboutb 850 or so though...Check out Blackvcg's sticky, might help on the on off pin length.. Try that and see if you still get the mad bounce. Oh, and Welcome the mag world.

You SHOULD have a .750 pin in there, but that size is not set in stone when you switch rails. There are pins available from .740-.770. You might need one a LITTLE longer with that rail. Make sure the trigger rod is not hitting the back of the trigger when gassed up. Turn it down to about 850 before you do anything and see if it goes away. Let us know...
