X-valve not cycling after the first shot.

I've had my ULE RT for several months now, using it on two different days in the past two weeks(3000 shots or so). After using it today I took it apart and wiped it down. I oiled the on/off assembly and and put it back together. Put six drops of oil in the ASA adapter like the book says to and started firing to get the oil worked through the gun.

Currently in the level 10 are the 1x carrier, the shortest spring, and 3 shims.

When I fired it, it cycled properly the first shot and then the trigger rod didn't push the trigger forward again. I took it apart and felt the on/off because it was tough to move at first and the o-rings felt hard. With enough oil it seemed to move ok so i tried it again. It worked for about 10 shots and then I started firing a lot faster. Then the trigger rod didn't come forward again. I tested the level 10 by putting a squeegee in the feed neck and it seemed like it wasn't resetting as good as it was earlier that day.

Any suggestions as to what to try next?

try tightening the field strip screw. Valve acts odd sometimes on a ULE body when the screw isnt tight enough. Also just to check whats your pressure at and velocity?

Velocity today was ~260-270. Pressure? The output pressure of my tank is preset at 800 I think if that's what you're talking about.

Yeah thats what i was talking about did you try tightening the field strip screw a bit? As i said earlier the valves like to act silly sometimes with a ULE body if the field strip screw isnt tight enough.

Yeah, it's in there tight. Once I fill my tank with air again I can record a video to show exactly what is happening just in case I failed to mention anything.

Try going to a larger carrier size. Test it without shims to make sure any leaks aren't caused by exposing the vent hole.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

I tried larger carriers but all leaked down the barrel. I'll try it without shims next, as soon as i get some more air.

I had a similar problem when first setting up my LVL10 + X-valve. First try to increase velocity even if that means reaching the maximum :) . If this doesn't work, or even if it works but only at high velocities, assuming it isn't a lvl10 problem, unscrew the valve and check that the o-ring of the valve reg pin hasn't detached from the assembly.

I'm not sure, but from what i've read so far, the problem should be in that area...

                Just my 2 cents.
