    Flatline Filling problem

    Hi
I attened past Weekend to a Game up in AL with my new/used Flatline Tank. The first problem i had was at the Filling Station. I try to fill the Tank but nothing happend. You could see no movements on the Gauge neitehr you could feel that Air is going into the Tank.
OK i tought maybe a Bad Fill nipple, so i uesd my other Tank (Armageddon) no problems at all.

So at home. I have two Scuba Tanks. I hooked up the Flatline and well no problem at all. Befor the Game i tooked it to a Store to let them Fill the Tank, no problem.

So can some help me what was the Problem????
Was it the Tank or was/is it the Tank????

The Fill nipple has a Pin inside which should open under presure form the outside. Well sometimes if i removed from this Fillingstation the Pin stayed in. Is that means i need a new one???

Can someone help me out here???

I am just confused, the Station i Filled at the Game was a preset 4500 and a 3000PSI side. I only tried the 4500 PSI side. And it did not fill my Tank at all.

Help please, so i dont have a bad starting on the next Game

I had that happen to me once with my 4500 system where i pluged it up and air would not go in. All i did was clean out the fill nipple and it has worked fine since. You can do the same or you can replace it all together. Check the fill nipple o-ring for damage, If it seems fine try cleaning it off a bit. Another thing that could have happened was that the guy never turned your gass valve on. That happened to me over the weekend up at EMR there was 3 of us at the station and the guy just never opend air to my tank.

The fill nipples can stick. I had issues with mine recently. It worked on some stations but not on others. Clean it.

        Hi

I clean it and it looks ok to me. I know the Tank is under pressure but can i use a little bit oil on the O-Ring???? With running in Danger of an Explosion????
All the other Guys in the Line did not have any trouble with filling their Tank. Just me.

A good urethane o-ring should not have to be lubricated to do its job, especially under high pressure. If its sticking, then it may have gotten soft or distorted over time.

Oil vapours under pressure can be an explosion hazard when the tank heats during filling. Don't use a lubricant on this o-ring.

If you are worried about it, you can just replace your fill nipple. Having attempted to continue playing with iffy nipples in the past I guarantee you it won't act up on you until you especially need it not to. I really like CP's fill nipple. They have a little allen head thing inside that keeps the o-ring from moving more than it absolutely has to. Another thing you can do to lube that o-ring safely is take the nipple off the tank, use silicone oil hook it up to your fill station and blow the excess through it SLOWLY (keep your finger on the pin cause sometimes they just fly out).

              Hope that helps.
