68 classic leaking problem

hi there, any one can help me
got a 68 classic ,everything worked good until i decided to clean the inside. somehow the on/off assy is giving problem. all the o-rings seem fine and i place evrything back the same but is leaking from the the front of the gun. if any one can explain the on/off assy how it work so i can figure it out. would getting new o-ring solve it? would putting the on/off assy together at the sime time be better or place the o-ring and parts indiviual piece by piece?

If it sounds like its leaking out the front it could be leaking out of the bolt. Did you remove the power tube tip? If so, recheck to make sure that o-ring is ok and make sure to relube it. Recheck and make sure the orings in the on/off are all ok and relube before reinstalling them.

It shouldn't matter if you put the on/off in piece by piece or all together, but it should be a little easier to install the bottom half if the pin is already in the small teflon o-rings.

Most leaks out the front aren't usually the on/off, they're usually in the power tube/bolt. The new level 10 gives you different carriers to make the oring smaller. Older level 7 powertubes use a larger o-ring and power tube spacers. If you did remove the power tube tip you could have cleaned out some grime or buildup on and around the o-ring that helped seal it. By cleaning it off you just need a new o-ring or power tube spacer kit. The power tube spacer kits go for around $15 and you could find a used set cheaper.

Gas it up. While it's leaking, pull and hold the trigger back. If the leak stops, it's your powertube o-ring. If it still leaks with the trigger pulled, you have a leak in your on/off assembly.
