X valve leaks out of velocity adj. hole .... my findings

I had this problem when I aired up my marker.I decided to take the valve apart.I unscrewed the two halves, removed the small brass cup(four cross slots in it) with the o-ring in it(in the front half of valve) and found a small piece of metal that was stuck between the o-ring and the valve housing.I removed it,reinstalled the cup and o-ring,screwed the two valve halves back and oiled it.Worked great with no leaks.Hope this maybe can help somebody out.

**Disclaimer.... Please DEGAS your marker ** there are some people out there that are goofy enough to try it

good thing to remember toi check,....but i'd like to ask how did a Peice of metal get inside your valve? As something else on your marker is now missing a little bit of metal.

if you don't degas your marker before taking the xvalve off, the on/off assembly will shoot out, and then air will vent through there. Not only that, but you will probably lose your assembly, an eye, or both since you won't be able to see any longer.
you know you play this game too much when the neighbors stop fixing their broken windows...

Prolly would be a good thing to check your piston, reg pin, reg oring seat(4 crosshatch grooves), even the on/off assy. Check your tank too. That metal came from somewhere, it will serve your best interests to find out where. You save money down the road & eliminate a potential safety hazard.

Definately extra lube. I keep two bottles at all times. Can't leave home w/o your lubricant.
