Classic valve with lvl 10 leaking

I got my lvl 10 in last night and I have tried following the directions I printed off of AGD. It has an extremely bad leak down the barrel. I have it set up with 2 shims like it says. But I am unfamiliar in what to look for in the difference in the little brass pieces. It says to get a fit not to tight and not to loose but they all seem to be the same size to me. They are all tight. What should I look for in those pieces to be different? What would cause the leak down the barrel like that?

    for starters...

Start with the 1.5 or the 2.0 brass carrier. The 1.5 has one ring on top half of carrier and a dot on the bottom half. The 2.0 has 2 rings, no dot. Leave the 2 shimms for now. If 1.5 leaks, put in a 1.0 (1 ring, not dot).

OK Now I got the leak down the barrel stopped and it is leaking out the back where you adjust the velocity. Any suggestions on what that is? I am sure it is soething very simple. I put the 1.0 carrier in it, would that have any affect on it? I didn't even try the 1.5 or 2.0 I just tried the 1.0 to see if the leak stopped. I will go back up if I need to.

              not reg seat...reg piston

you need to chrono the gun. If it is over 300 fps, it is supposed to leak out the back. Go up in carrier sizes like 2.0 or 1.5 as I said before. If you use to tight a carrier, it takes too much air pressure to fire and can cause the venting out the back. Go to 2.0 and if it leaks, down to 1.5. Then chrono!

                if all else fails...

Once you get it shooting well, check it over the chrono. If it is too slow, you need a new regulator piston. They are $20 from AGD and airgun.com

                    OK,

                    Here is what is happening,

                    Carrier with:

1 ring top- won't fire, leaks air out of velocity adjustment hole
2 ring top-no dots- leaks air out of barrel

I have these carriers. Can someone tell me the order they go in size?

                    2 ring top-1 ring bottom
                    2 ring top-2ring bottom
                    2 ring top-1ring bottom with 3 dots
                    no rings-no dots
                    3 dots top- none bottom
2 rings top- 3 dot bottom
1 ring top- 3 dots bottom

                    I didn't have the 1.5 carrier with 1 ring top-1 dot bottom.

Will one of these do in its place or am I missing a carrier?
