    eMag Problem

I am having a problem with my emag where it will stop shooting in "E" electric mode. (I checked the battery).

It started a few weeks ago in a tournament. Off the break it was fine, then it just stopped shooting. At the time I quickly looked at the gun, and it did not say low battery, so I pulled the trigger again and it worked.. It was strange. As the day went on it did it several more times. I ended up putting it in Manual mode, where it worked fine.

I came home and charged the battery and gave the marker a good cleaning, and it was still doing it.

It seems like you pull the trigger a bunch, and it stops. You switch it to manual and it will fire. If you switch it back to E, it will work for a bit and then stop.

    Any ideas?

    Eric

    My marker setup is:

    eMag with ULE body
    version 1.37 firmware
    68ci CF tank

When the gun stops shooting does the solinoid still click when you pull the trigger? If your electronics are cutting out then you may have a bad battery connection or a loose wire somewhere. If your electronics are working fine then check and see if the bolt is sticking forward. Bolt stick is most likely your problem. Check out some of the threads here on bolt stick to solve your problem.
    Good luck.

The trigger magnet could be too close to the HES. Back it off a little if the electronics are not working (Noid clicking)

If the noid is clicking and the gun is still not firing, look fo bolt stick, or your on/off sticking,

I am sure hat the bolt is not sticking, because it fires fine in Manual mode.

In E mode I can hear it clicking when I pull the trigger and it does not fire. I will take the grip off and check it out later today.

Mine will do this too from time to time and I dunno what's up with it. I'm using 1.37 software too.

I've let the battery discharge and recharge it and it won't take care of it, but this whole business of not saying low bat and working for a while then stopping and then working again is wierd. Makes me wonder if the capaciter on the board is going bad or something but then again it doesn't do it all the time.

Another though, which is more probable, is the stem of the Level 10 getting too much lube on it and causing bolt stick.

The battery could be getting weak. It could have the proper voltage but not be able to deliver the current needed, especially after a few quick shots.

Another possibity is a bent solenoid plunger rod. This could affect the ability of the solenoid to activate the on-off but the gun would still fire in manual mode.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
