Question about the on/off pin for Retro Valves

I hear there are two different lengths available from AGD. I recently took the pin out of my retro valve to replace the one that had broken in my E-mag...it still didn't work and I sent it in for repair. Now the e-mag is fixed but I don't have a replacement pin for my retro valve.
What should I do? Order both lengths and see which one works better? Is this sort of like a power tube spacer thing where more(or less) length gives better performance?
Any information would be appreciated, I'd like to order today.

i believe that the shorter the on off pin the more reactivness u will get. order a .745 and a .740, i use the .740 and it works fine. i think AGD will just send u them for free, that what they did for me anyways.

Would a shorter pin throw off the tolerances and make me need a different spacer? Just wondering.

In Retro Valves being used on RT-Pro's and regular Mags, you want your pin length to be around .740" to .750"

On E-Mags you want the pin to be around .715" to .725" This is because of the black quad o-ring. The sealing area is at the bottom of the o-ring, so the pin needs to be shorter to seal properly and not have shootdown.

            The tech king has spoken!
I was hoping to hear from you Black, your tech advice is invaluable. Very interesting bit of information too. That would explain why taking the pin out of my retro and putting it into the e-mag did not work.
Just out of curiousity, putting the entire retro valve into the e-mag should work no? Or is this black quad o-ring reserved for e-mags only? On that note, care to explain why all retro valves don't have this special o-ring? You've peaked my curiousity now!
I hope to learn more if you have the time.
Also, why would the old on/off pin break like it did? I never sent it(the broken piece) in to AGD since I was messing around with the other pin and I misplaced the original. I know steel can be brittle when hardened incorrectly. Did I get a fluke pin or has this occured often?
Good stuff, I gotta get into the tech forum more often.
jah-I have the .220 in my retro as well, so I guess I'll be fine. Thank you as well for your input.

By the way, what's with the Patriots logo that you and miscue have going. Do you both happen to be Pats fans like me? If so we have to have a small AO applause thread when they win the super bowl!
Or are you guys just showing your patriotism in a different way?
