'New' RT Pro Problems

I was just at D-Day at Skirmish in PA and bought an unused RT Pro off the Bob Long trailer's sale rack for $150 (bargained down from $300). Figured there might be problems with it, but for $150, oh well. Theres some kind of problem with the firing, might be the response trigger.

This is what happens. Any time I fire a burst the first shot and about every 5 or 6th shot is like a dud. It just flops out of the gun. There was some pressure behind these balls, but they only go about 5-10 feet.

The response trigger doesn't seem to press all the way back out either.

I have it hooked up to a 3000psi 750 preset 68ci tank. I was wondering if i need to go higher then 750 or soemthing. Any help would be appriciated.

Yeah, your input pressure is a little low. I would say 800 psi minimum. Please note, every mag is slightly different, and you may need more or less. But 750psi is generally considered too low. Borrow a higher input tank and see if that helps.

Definately a problem with your input pressure, as jrod said. Although it should shoot fine at 750...maybe your tank is recharging slowly, or it's not actually putting 750 psi out. Anyway, definately try switching tanks.

Also, it can't hurt to take your valve apart and clean it. There is an excellent guide on how to do so here. And keep it well oiled, just put a few drops in the ASA before screwing your tank in, then dry fire it for twenty or so shots with the barrel off. Mags like oil.

Is it a stainless retro valve or an aluminum retro valve? Level 10?

You say it has a response trigger? Are you sure you don't mean, reactive trigger?

If the gun has been sitting for a while, it may need a new bolt spring.
